Pre-order

With a pre-order you order a book before it comes out. As soon as the book is released, we ship your order or your book is ready for you to pick up in our shop in Rotterdam.

Ordering in advance is a smart choice, especially for popular new releases and special editions with sprayed edges. Special editions are sometimes printed in limited numbers, so they can sell out fast. With a pre-order you're sure of a copy and you don't have to worry about missing out.

We ship your pre-order as soon as the book arrives with us, so you have it at home on release day. That way you get your new book as quickly as possible. Does the publisher change the release date? Then we adjust the shipping accordingly.

Would you rather collect your book yourself? Then choose pick up in store at checkout. As soon as your pre-order is ready, we'll send you a message. You'll find Tea & Tales at Van Oldenbarneveltstraat 142A in Rotterdam. A lovely moment to have a browse among our books and tea while you're there.

We prefer to ship your order in one go. Are you combining a pre-order with loose-leaf tea, a book nook or a book that's already in stock? Then we'll ship everything together as soon as your pre-order is available.

Ordering several pre-orders with different release dates? Then we'll ship them together if the release dates are close together. If there's a lot of time between them, we may ship the books separately.

Would you rather receive your other products straight away? Then place them in a separate order. That way you don't have to wait for your pre-order.

For the big titles you often have a choice of several editions.

Paperback. The regular edition, with a flexible cover. The most affordable way to read the story.

Hardcover. Bound, with a sturdy cover. Lasts longer and looks nicer on the shelf.

Special edition. Hardcover with sprayed edges, so with coloured page edges. Often with foil on the cover and printed endpapers too. These have the smallest print run.

You can also place a pre-order in the shop. Pop in at Van Oldenbarneveltstraat 142A in Rotterdam and tell us which title and edition you'd like, and we'll set it aside for you.
