What is De jongen, de mol, de vos en het paard - het geanimeerde verhaal about?

A loving read-aloud book for young and old that brings a unique friendship to life.

In 'De jongen, de mol, de vos en het paard: het geanimeerde verhaal' by Charlie Mackesy, a curious boy sets out to find a home. Along the way he meets a wise mole, a thoughtful fox and a strong horse, and that is the beginning of their friendship. The large, full-colour illustrations are based on the BBC animated film (available on Apple TV) that won the Oscar for best animated short film. The illustrations bring the characters we all know from the first book to life. You step into their world and travel along with them. This story, too, has been lovingly translated by Arthur Japin. It is a beautiful story that brings us all home and will certainly appeal to children.

'I hope this book gives you courage and the feeling that you are loved. Always remember that you matter, and that you bring something to this world that nobody else has.' - Charlie Mackesy

Charlie Mackesy grew up in England, where he wandered through nature, drew and swam in the river. He never went to art school, but started his career as a cartoonist for The Spectator and an illustrator for Oxford University Press. His art has been published in books, and can also be found in hospitals, prisons and schools. With De jongen, de mol, de vos en het paard ('The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse') he created a worldwide bestseller. Charlie loves spending time in the world of his characters, and has plenty of ideas for new adventures.
