Dolores Claiborne

Dolores Claiborne has a story to tell. And you had better pay attention, or else…

Dolores Claiborne by master storyteller Stephen King tells the story of a housekeeper with a long-hidden secret… a secret that will put her will to live to the test.

When Vera Donovan, one of the richest and meanest residents of Maine's Little Tall Island, suddenly dies in her home, her housekeeper and carer, Dolores Claiborne, immediately falls under suspicion. Dolores is no stranger to that kind of mistrust. Thanks to the local gossip about the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of her violent husband twenty-nine years earlier, everyone already looks at her a little strangely anyway.

But if this really is Dolores Claiborne's day of reckoning, then there are a few things she would like to get off her chest. And so she reveals her darkest secrets, all kept hidden to protect the one she loves, whatever the cost.
