What is Project Hail Mary about?

In Andy Weir's gripping science fiction novel Project Hail Mary, Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a spaceship, on a desperate and probably hopeless mission to save humanity.

Only he doesn't remember any of this. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the task he was given and how to carry it out. All he knows is that he has been asleep for a very long time and has now woken up, millions of kilometres from home, next to two dead crew members. As his memories slowly return, Ryland realises that he has to complete an impossible task. And thanks to an unexpected ally, he may just have a chance...

Project Hail Mary is a gripping science fiction thriller full of adventure, suspense and accessible science. Andy Weir, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Martian, tells a grand and brilliantly clever story about survival and the fate of humanity. For fans of large-scale, adventurous science fiction such as Guardians of the Galaxy. Now available as a film tie-in edition.
