Starside

Fifty mortals venture into an immortal realm, and Aris comes only for revenge.

In Starside, Alex Aster opens up two worlds that were separated centuries ago. On one side live immortals descended from gods, on the other side mortals with hardly any magic. Every fifty years the gates open and fifty challengers may search for a magical source that promises healing, riches or a longer life. Aris is an orphan and a blacksmith’s apprentice, and she takes part because a goddess burned her village and her family to ashes. The moment she gets hold of a sword full of magic, she is no longer only a contender but a target as well.

This fantasy book is part 1 of the Starside series and the first romantasy Aster wrote for adult readers. If you loved the deadly trials in Fourth Wing or the divine power games in her own Lightlark series, this is for you: enemies to lovers, betrayal at court and nights when even immortals lock their doors. This English special edition is a hardcover with sprayed edges.
