The Faraway Inn (Deluxe Hardback, sprayed edges)

A summer of odd jobs at your great-aunt's guesthouse, until it turns out the guests are not from around here.

The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst drops Calisa off at a bed and breakfast that has clearly seen better days. She is spending the summer with her great-aunt and, together with the gardener's son, starts fixing the place up: paint, curtains, a guestbook that needs filling again. The longer she stays, the less things add up. The rooms, the guests and the house itself are hiding something, and once Calisa works out what it is, she can no longer pretend she knows nothing.

This is a warm, cosy fantasy book for young adult readers and for anyone who loves stories in which a place almost becomes a character itself. Do not expect battles, but summer light, creaking stairs and magic that slowly creeps in. This English edition is a luxurious first-print hardcover with sprayed edges, just the kind of book you love to see lying around as much as you love to read it.
