The new captain swears he will allow no distractions at all this season. And then along comes Demi.

The Play by Elle Kennedy is book 3 of the Briar U series, the spin-off of Off-Campus. Hunter Davenport has been made captain of the ice hockey team and decides that romance has no place this year. Then he becomes friends with Demi Davis, who has just started at Briar and already has a boyfriend, and that goes surprisingly well for surprisingly long. Until Demi becomes single, the two of them are paired up for a year-long project and Hunter finds that staying just friends suddenly takes an awful lot of effort.

For anyone who loves friends to lovers: a new adult sports romance with a campus atmosphere, ice hockey, quick-fire dialogue and spicy scenes. Each book follows a different couple, so you can jump in here, although it is more fun if you already know The Chase and The Risk. English-language paperback, just right for a rainy Sunday under a blanket.

How our reviews work

After an order or an event you get an email with your own link. A review left through that link gets the Verified buyer label. Readers in our app can rate a book too. They only get that label if they bought the book from us. We read every text before it goes online. We only remove swearing, personal details and spam. We show positive and negative reviews alike. The score is the average of all stars.
