Yesteryear

A tradwife influencer wakes up in a life that looks like hers, but is not.

Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke centres on Natalie Heller Mills, who has a huge online following thanks to her rural life: the farm, the handsome cowboy husband, the bread she bakes herself every morning. Behind the camera, producers and nannies keep that picture standing. One morning she wakes up in a world that feels familiar down to the last detail and at the same time is deeply wrong. Is this a joke, a reality show or a trial from on high, and above all: how does she get out of here?

A psychological thriller with a pitch-black sense of humour, about fame, faith, tradition and the performance that femininity sometimes has to be. For readers of Yellowface and The Stepford Wives, and for anyone who has ever marvelled at tradwife videos. English-language paperback; a film adaptation starring Anne Hathaway is currently in the works.
