About this edition

Caraval, the first book in Stephanie Garber's hugely popular YA series about the sisters Scarlett and Donatella, is now available as a paperback with beautifully printed sprayed edges. The series also includes Meester Legende (book 2), Finale (book 3) and the Caraval novella Het spektakel. Afraid of their cruel father, the sisters Scarlett and Donatella flee the small, remote island where they live. They are helped by the oh so tempting but insufferable Julian. They end up on Dream Island, where the yearly performance of Caraval takes place. The audience takes part in a deadly game and has to work out what is fantasy and what is real. Shortly after arriving on the island Donatella disappears, and Scarlett can think of only one thing: finding her sister before the wicked master of Caraval finds her and people start to die. Caraval landed on many bestseller lists and end-of-year lists at home and abroad, and earned plenty of 4 and 5 star reviews. In the Netherlands, too, readers are wildly enthusiastic about Garber's series full of romance, intrigue and exciting twists. This is the YA readers are longing for. 'This book is absolutely amazing!' Chinouk Thijssen, author of Gegijzeld and To Lie For
