What is Een nieuwe zomer in de kleine bakkerij about?

In Een nieuwe zomer in de kleine bakkerij by Jenny Colgan, Marisa Rossi arrives on the beautiful island of Mount Polbearne, but she barely notices the lovely surroundings. Since the death of her beloved grandfather she hasn't been herself and has developed an anxiety disorder. Even cooking delicious Italian food, normally her passion, is too much for her now. Marisa hides away in her holiday home, until her therapist tells her she has to broaden her horizons. Those plans are made rather difficult by Marisa's new neighbour, an attractive but noisy Russian piano teacher. His composing late into the night drives her mad. Still, Marisa manages to make friends. Like Polly, who urgently needs new plans for her bakery on the beach. The business needs sparkling ideas, more pizzazz, more... dolce vita?
