Een rugzak vol

Een rugzak vol is a book by Pieter Koolwijk. This Dutch edition is a hardback.

What is Een rugzak vol about?

On the table stands the most hideous backpack in the whole world. A big green one, with a brown leather bottom, lots of little pockets and leather straps. It looks like it comes from the Second World War. Or maybe even the First. That is certainly what it smells like.

Obi has to take the train to his mother's, because she can't pick him up and his father can't take him. And he has to wear that stupid old backpack too, because he has lost his other one.

As if all that isn't bad enough, he spends a bit too much money on a pocketknife, so he doesn't have enough left to buy a train ticket. So Obi decides to walk to the next station. Of course, that doesn't go well at all. And then he hears something in his backpack…

Pieter Koolwijk has done it again. He has written a story full of typically Koolwijk characters that make you laugh, hold your breath and sometimes turn your stomach, and you understand all too well what is happening in Obi's ever fuller backpack. Linde Faas once again turns it into a perfectly colourful whole.
