Vanilla is the syrup you will reach for most often. Not because it is exciting, but because it goes with everything: creamy, soft and velvet sweet, with that subtly exotic edge of real vanilla. Where vanilla sugar is mostly sweet, this syrup brings scent with it too.
In coffee
The classic vanilla latte: one to two pumps in the cup before the milk. Works just as well in an iced coffee.
In tea
A dash in rooibos or black tea. With a cold green tea and some lemon it becomes a soft iced tea.
Baking
Replaces vanilla extract in batter, pancakes, custard and cream. You add flavour and can cut back on the ordinary sugar.
